Eurotrip Day - 0

SCHOOL IS OVER!!!! Wow, I can't believe that after all these years of school I am done. I am going to love leaving school but still miss it a lot. The reason? Well, I am the only one in my group of friends that is moving away from Ottawa. hmmm.. Mei is moving to Hamilton, ok, so I am not the only one.

But now that it is all gone, on to another topic, EUROTRIP! Why am I excited about this? Well, I have never try traveled over any ocean, other than the time I went to Hong Kong when I was 1 year old. So that definitely doesn't count. I always wanted to go to Hong Kong but never go the chance. Why? My parents would never let me go for the following reasons:

  • "School is more important, wait until you are done Elementary School then you can go visit your Aunt in Hong Kong."
  • After grade 9, "We don't have all the money for your to spend, you need to find a part time job." Since I was working, I had no time to go to travelling
  • After grade 11, "You have to work really hard to get into University and start saving up some money so you can go to University."
  • In Grade 12, "We can't pay for your entire tuition. We are not going to pay for anything after 2 year. You are on your own after that." I worked 10-12 hour shifts at Ocean Fisheries for most of the summer.
  • In University, "University is not like High school, you have to work really hard so you can get Co-op jobs. You need to study harder". Sigh

Well, now, I have finished everything and am debt free. I can't see any other excuse to prevent me from travelling now. So maybe now, you might understand why this trip is going to be crazy and amazing. Not that I am doing this to make my parents angry, but now I am able to do something I have really really wanted to do.

Today, we are going to leave for London (UK) at 10:40pm. I can't wait!!! There is going to be so much stuff to do while we are there. Roger and Steve are going with me. Roger is my great study buddy and Steve is my buddy from IBM Co-op. This is a first time for all of us. We are travelling to the following places:

  • London
  • Paris
  • Zurich
  • Rome
  • Venice
  • Munich
  • Heidleberg
  • Frankfurt
  • Bonn
  • Luxembourg
  • Brussels
  • Amsterdam

Isn't this a lot? Yes, too much, even for 1 month of traveling. I have no 100% idea how long we are staying in every place. It depends if exhaust the tourist stuff. Getting drunk? Well, maybe. I don't like drinking, unless there is Karaoke ^_^.

I have already packed sooooo much and I am down to only a small space for any souvenirs. I might have to reconsider the amount of clothing I am bringing or something. Hopefully Clem's other backpack will be able to fit more. I really want to get some souvenirs.

I will keep this blog as up-to-date as possible. I will try to fill in what we do everyday and my comments of course. For those who are interested at some of the planning things we are doing for the trip, you can pop over to Roger's Eurotrip Planning Wiki and just check out some of the links in there. If you notice, there is nothing after Roger leaves, because that is when Steve and I are going to go a little crazy in terms of travelling.

School is over and I am going to go explore the outside world. Eventhough my parents have given me excuses every year, I am grateful because what they said would be the reward was true. Wish and pray for a safe trip. I will drop some more messages once I arrive.
